US volunteers represented more than half (52%) of the signatories of the fan.

More than half (56.25%) of the US volunteers were born between 1911 and 1916. They were adolescents at the onset of the Great Depression.

Almost 70% of the US volunteers were in their 20s when they signed the fan in 1938.

82% of the US volunteers had been born in the United States.

A quarter (25%) of the US volunteers came from New York and close to a third (32%) came from California. Combined, the two states accounted for 57% of the American volunteers.
